MTM Recognition Unveils "Monster" of a Trophy
MTM Recognition, the leading manufacturer and designer of recognition awards, recently presented their latest masterpiece to Dover Motorsports in Dover, DE. The monster trophy was then awarded on September 26, 2004 to NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver Ryan Newman, as the winner of the MBNA America 400 at Dover International Speedway.
"This is the ultimate award for taming the Monster Mile and winning the MBNA America 400 at Dover. MTM Recognition exceeded our expectations with a breathtaking sculpture that beautifully recreated our Monster and embodies what makes Dover International Speedway special," said Mr. Jerry Miraglia execute vie president of Dover Motorsports. "This award fits perfectly into our long term marketing strategy of our track and our NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race."
The award is sculptured from material that matches the track. It stands 30" high and is sculpted in the identity of a monster. The monster is mounted on a black acrylic base featuring a red-mirrored accent to give a red glow and impression that the monster is on fire. The monster's hand is high above his head and is sculpted to hold an Action Performance die-cast car - a replica of the winner's car at 1/24th size.
"This award is one-of-a-kind," said Bob Saunders, MTM's Consultant in Baltimore. "It is the pinnacle of all awards for NASCAR."
The monster concept and 3D design were created by Dover Motorsports to enhance brand awareness of the Monster Mile. Graphic artists and designers from MTM and Dover Motorsports worked collaboratively for four months to design the trophy.
Tracy Bewley and sculptor Jack Nortz with MTM produced and award that will be a treasure piece for years to come for the winner.
